Christchurch and a stop at the gardens

Up early-ish today and off to Christchurch today so we packed and were on the road by 9.30am. A morning tea was had on the way and a few stops for photos.... love the snow covered mountains - they are so beautiful in the distance.

We then went to the gondola for a ride up the mountain and the views were spectacular from the top. I had done this with the kids all those years ago and it was just as breathtaking.

We had a lovely lunch and then went to find our accommodation...... which is a lovely appointed room with a king bed......

Then we walked to the Botanical Gardens to stretch our legs and were amazed with the variety and in particular the azalea show. There is also a great greenhouse conservatory which we looked at for a while and hope to revisit tomorrow if we have time (as they were shutting the doors and we had to leave much too early).

We went to a great Indian Restaurant called Arjee Bahjee.... great food, fun atmosphere and a good end to another day. Only a few more days to go and we will be flying home..... but what a great trip this has been..... a few more days and then back to reality.
